This workshop will be delivered by our Welfare Benefits Officer.

The aim of the workshop is to give you an understanding of how to manage your money to avoid getting into debt through a variety of teaching methods including quizzes, games and case studies.

The two hour workshop will also cover:

  • Being able to keep a simple record of money coming in and going out
  • Identify which benefits and grants may be relevant to you
  • Understanding the implications of debt
  • Know how to access free debt advice
  • Upadates on the Welfare Benefits reform

All courses are free and lunch will be provided (where appropriate) for full day courses. Swan will also help towards travel and childcare costs.

After a review meeting with residents who took part in the 2010 workshops, it has been suggested to ask for a deposit of £5 cheque or postal order made payable to "Swan Housing Association" (no cash) to secure your place.

This will be refunded on the day of the course.
