A stroke is also known as a ‘brain attack’ caused by either a bleed or clot in the brain. There are about 180,000 strokes in the UK every year which makes it the third biggest killer after cancer and heart disease. People from African, Caribbean and South Asian backgrounds are at increased risk of stroke. Can strokes be prevented? |
