Meet the residents of the Essex Resident Consultative committee. Every six weeks residents get together with Swan staff to make sure the repairs and housing service is performing well. Members represent their neighbours and local communities.

As well as making sure their neighbourhood receives good quality services they have:

• Attended government sponsored conferences and events on anti social behaviour.
• Met with Swan senior management and board members to discuss improvement plans and future plans for Swan Housing Association
• Taken part in the review of the rent arrears service, resident involvement service and allocations policy
• Visited other areas of Swan’s housing to find out about the issues affecting different communities and what swan is doing to address them
• Raised and resolved issues affecting their local communities

Clive Plant, chair of the Essex Resident Consultative Committee and resident of Dovercourt said

“I don’t think many residents know what we achieve for all residents in our area. Any policy that Swan produces about our homes or the service we receive has to be discussed by us first to make sure residents are getting the best possible service. I would like to encourage as many residents to join the RCC. Not only will you learn how Swan makes the decisions about our homes, you are able to influence those decisions and make sure they are in the best interest of us residents”
