what does this mean for you?

Swan has launched a Financial Inclusion Strategy, which will help us to reduce, and then eliminate, financial exclusion in the areas that we work.

Financial Inclusion is where individuals are given the skills, knowledge and understanding to access various financial products and services and to make best use of these.

We currently do this by:

• Offering a Welfare Benefit Service
• Providing leaflets with contact details for getting money advice
• Working closely with Housing Benefit departments
• Promoting low cost home contents insurance
• Providing practical and emotional support to young people within our foyer schemes Enabling you to access Support Services

We also plan to:

• Improve money management training for staff
• Give information to older residents on pension credits
• Provide information on local credit unions
• Update Swans website with information debt and financial advice
• Promote the benefits of tenants with contents insurance
• Provide information on the benefits that a bank account can offer
