Every Thursday, a trained CAB adviser works out of our head office, Pilgrim House for the day. We can offer you this service as we work closely in partnership with the Citizens Advice Bureau.

The changes to Housing Benefit we told you about in the last edition of The Communicator started on the 4th April 2011 - don’t lose out!
Your Housing Benefit might be reduced by a deduction made because of someone who lives with you. This person may be an adult son, daughter, friend or relative and are called ‘non-dependants.’

A woman from Tower Hamlets needed to find a safe place to live and help to claim her benefits. She had experienced Domestic Violence, living in a one-bed house with two adults and three children. She came to us for help.
After being nominated by her local Council, she applied for a flat so that she could be safe with her daughter. She was very excited to be getting her own home.
