Did you know you could receive upto £4,500 for moving into a smaller home?

Find out whether you qualify for a payment under Swan’s downsizing scheme by answering the following questions:-

• Does your home have at least 3 bedrooms?
• Do you have at least one bedroom you don’t really use?
• Do you find your home difficult to maintain?
• Are you struggling to pay your gas and/or electric bill?
• Could you benefit from lower rent and council tax charges?

If you have answered yes to the first 2 questions and at least one other and you have an assured or secure tenancy, you could benefit from Swan’s downsizing scheme.

Under the downsizing scheme payments are available for those moving from a family sized home into a smaller property. For example if you move from a property with 4 bedrooms into a 1 bedroom property you could receive a payment of £4,500 (minus any rent arrears or recharges).

Those living in a 3 bedroom property moving into a 2 bed can also receive a payment of up to £1000.

Payments are dependent on how many bedrooms you are giving up and what size property you are moving into (new property must be a 1 or 2 bed)
