The plaque commemorates the lives of Violet Pengelly and Joan Bartlett, two teenage fire fighters who lost their lives during a Blitz bombing raid in 1940, and was unveiled in a special cereomony by Jim Fitzpatrick earlier this year (You can view the article here). ![]() Swan Housing Group Deputy Chief Executive, Mark Thompson, said: ‘It’s sad that a plaque like this should be stolen at a time of year when we traditionally come together in remembrance of the sacrifices made by others. Anyone with information on the plaque’s whereabouts should contact Swan on 01277 844700.
