    Although the day to day work of the Association is carried out by the staff, the boards of management govern the association.

    The Swan Housing Association Board is made up of professionals from various areas of the sector, everyone is a volunteer and brings a wide range of skills and experience to help make the best decisions for the Association and its residents.

  • Regional - RCCs   ( 8 Articles )

    Essex Rcc 2009 Resident Consultative Committees - Estimated time required :- 2-3 hours per month

    Swan Housing Association encourages resident involvement in many areas from local estate issues to regional level decisions and policies that will affect all residents.

    A Residents Consultative Committee (RCC) is a group of residents who consult and negotiate with Swan Housing Group on all housing matters involved in the running of the Associations. They meet monthly to discuss issues and yearly to elect members onto the Group's Management Boards.

    ‘The Resident Consultative Committee are regionally based in Essex, and the London areas. The committees meet bi-monthly or monthly and discuss neighbourhood, community and environmental issues.

    Loindon RCC They also become involved in attending service reviews and help Swan set standards, i.e. rent arrears, Lettings and Allocations and Voids etc. At each meeting a formal agenda is set and policies are submitted to the Committees, which are approved by them before they go to Swan’s boards of management. They also receive reports from Swan staff regarding service performance in their region’.
