Winner, Tyra (15) with her collage, and Alethea Our celebration of Black History Month in October was again a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity and the contributions of black men and women to British society.

This year we held two extra special activities to mark the month.  We had a ‘bring a dish’ lunch at the Bow Cross Community Hall and we ran an art competition for residents under 16 years old

The ‘bring a dish’ lunch at the Bow Cross Community Hall was an opportunity for everyone to sample diverse dishes from around the world, and provided some very tasty and exciting food for all to try. These wonderful dishes were all brought in by residents from the Diversity Action Forums, the Resident Consultative Committees along with Swan staff, for all to try.

We also ran an art competition for residents under 16 years old, and had some great entries.  The winners included Tyra  and Samirah, who both received their prizes this week.

Thank you for celebrating Black History Month with us.
